Privacy policy

In short

This site sets no cookies, embeds no advertising tracker and loads no third-party resources. The only analytics in place runs on our own server, without cookies and without personal data. There is therefore no consent banner to display: there is nothing to consent to.

Concretely, when you read a page:

• no cookie is written, neither first-party nor third-party;
• one anonymous page view is sent to a.z29k.fr, our own analytics instance; apart from that, everything is served from papyrus.z29k.com - fonts, images and scripts included;
• there is no advertising pixel, no browser fingerprinting, no session recording;
• no data leaves the European Union.

Data processed

Analytics

The site uses Plausible Analytics, installed on our own infrastructure (a.z29k.fr). The statistics therefore go through no analytics provider, and are never sold, shared, or combined with any other processing.

Plausible sets and reads no cookie, and writes nothing into your browser. Your IP address is not kept: together with the browser you report, it is only used to compute a temporary identifier that avoids counting the same visit twice within a day. That identifier derives from a key that is rotated daily and then destroyed, so tracking from one day to the next is impossible.

Each page read produces one aggregated row: page requested, referrer, country, device type, browser and operating system. None of this identifies you or reconstructs an individual journey. It tells us which content gets read.

Since no information is written to or read from your device, this does not fall under article 82 of the French Data Protection Act: there is no consent to collect.

Legal basis: legitimate interest (GDPR article 6.1.f) - measuring the site's audience to guide what gets published on it.

Hosting provider logs

Reading a page leaves a trace in the hosting provider's logs (Scaleway), as it would on any web server: IP address, date and time, page requested, browser type.

These logs exist for the operation and security of the infrastructure. They are not used by the publisher to measure traffic or build visitor profiles: the analytics described above is a separate processing operation and does not rely on them. Their retention period is the one applied by the hosting provider.

Legal basis: legitimate interest (GDPR article 6.1.f) - keeping the service secure and available.

Emails you send us

If you write to contact@z29k.com, your email address and the content of your message are processed in order to answer you. The mailbox is hosted by Microsoft 365; this is the only part of the setup whose infrastructure belongs to a provider subject to non-European legislation.

These exchanges are kept for as long as needed to handle the request, then for a maximum of three years from the last contact.

Site search

The site search runs entirely in your browser, against a static index (Pagefind) downloaded alongside the page. Your queries are never sent to a server and are not recorded.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict and object to the processing of data concerning you, as well as the right to give instructions about what happens to that data after your death.

To exercise these rights, write to contact@z29k.com. You will receive an answer within one month.
